Ahead of the Interceltic Business Forum, Peter Moore of Fidal shares his perspective on international expansion, trusted local knowledge, and the value of culturally connected business networks.
As a partner with Fidal in Brittany, Peter Moore works with businesses navigating cross-border growth, investment, and corporate transactions in France and beyond.
Ahead of the Interceltic Business Forum, he shares his perspective on internationalisation, the value of local knowledge, and why the forum stands out from other business networks.
Originally from Northern Ireland, I am a French qualified company lawyer specialized in corporate M&A and a partner with Fidal in Brittany. Fidal is the largest business law firm in France, with over 1300 lawyers over 88 offices in France. Our clients range from smaller and medium businesses to multinational and publicly traded groups.
Fidal advises a number of CAC40 companies. My clients are French companies with interests in foreign countries, either setting up or through external growth; French business owners selling assets or shares to foreign entities; foreign groups investing or divesting in France. I am sector agnostic, and advise clients across all sectors.
I accompany my clients in all aspects of their internationalization, along with my network of best friends in the target country. My binational background enables me to help them to interact with the sellers/business partners across the cultural divide.
My dual training and culture gives my clients comfort in expanding abroad.
The cultural dimension of the IBF is definitely a massive plus compared to other networks. There is a real cultural understanding between the different members of the group and this is something that isn’t as pronounced in other networks. The regional dimension of the forum also helps to identify needs and opportunities for clients desirous to develop and expand in different regions.
The local and regional knowledge of the members is a big plus for clients. This also reflects Fidal’s own DNA, which puts the emphasis on proximity and local knowledge to the service of our clients.
