Visiting Falmouth By Coach


National Express serves Falmouth from a number of destinations throughout the UK.

Connecting services to Cornwall are available from Bristol, Birmingham and London.


Visiting Falmouth By Road


Travel to Cornwall is straightforward with the M5 direct to Exeter, both the A30 and A38 continue dual carriageways into Cornwall. Follow the M5 to Exeter and join the A30 or A38 both lead to Truro, then follow the signs to Falmouth. You can plan your journey using the AA
Route Planner and for or up-to-date traffic information listen to local radio stations – BBC Radio Cornwall has regular traffic bulletins.

Train to Falmouth


Great Western Rail and Cross Country Trains both operate regular services to Cornwall, Great Western Rail operate services from London Paddington and South Wales to Cornwall, including an overnight sleeper train from London Paddington. Cross Country Trains operate services into
Cornwall from the Midlands, the North and Scotland. When arriving by train, change at Truro and take the Maritime Line, journey time is approximately 20 minutes, Falmouth has three stations, Penmere Halt, Falmouth Town and Falmouth Docks.

Fly to Cornwall

Newquay Cornwall Airport is one of the fastest growing regional airports in the UK linking Cornwall to major cities across the country as well as internationally. A short taxi ride will take you into Newquay town, and you can access the train to Par change for Truro and change again for Falmouth.

Alternatively, hire a car for a 60 min drive, car hire is available at Newquay Cornwall Airport through Europcar and Hertz who have offices at the terminal.

Reach Cornwall by Sea

Plymouth is the closest ferry terminal to Falmouth. Brittany Ferries offer services from Roscoff and Santander into Plymouth with easy
accessibility by car or train for onward travel to Falmouth which will take approx. 90 mins by road. Or a short taxi journey will take you to
Plymouth Train station where regular trains into Cornwall are available.

There are many ferry companies that operate daily services to the UK from mainland Europe and Ireland and these terminals are within easy
reach of the major motorways with good road links to Falmouth.
These include: Stena Line, P&O Ferries, Irish ferries and DFDS Seaways. Travelling across the Channel from France to the UK can take as little
time as 35 minutes on the Eurotunnel. And trains from Paddington will bring you to Falmouth via a change at the Cathedral City of Truro.
